Open your terminal app. Press **⌘+**Space to bring up search and type Terminal.
Type: ollama run deepseek-r1:14b in your terminal and press Enter.
You can choose other models to run by changing 14b to a different one listed here: https://ollama.com/library/deepseek-r1
The heavier the model, the better it is, but it will also take more to use. I found 14b to be the sweet spot for average users. You can go higher or lower depending on how powerful your computer is.
